Manager of Database Administration

The Role:

My client is building out a SaaS platform to be used by government agencies, military, security companies, education, etc. This platform will be used to store massive amounts of data.

You'll use your passion, technical expertise and strong problem solving skills to build the necessary secure infrastructure for the SaaS platform, assist in developing the needed policies and procedures for operating efficiently and effectively, and provide the needed technical support to help the company continue to be a leader in the industry.

Job Requirements:

5+ years SQL Server administration experience
3+ years experience managing a team of database administrators and developers
Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot existing MS SQL databases that support business applications using data modeling techniques.
Support and maintain database architecture and database design requirements from the various other I.T. departments.
Maintain backup and recovery systems, sizing, security, replication, database optimization, schema creation and maintenance, as well as SQL tuning and code optimization.
Work with software developers to architect data models for efficient data access, reporting, and data validation.
Design and manage Data Import / Export processes and procedures.
Continually develop new data archival plans with an eye towards retiring unnecessary data.
Extensive knowledge of HA strategies (RAID, clustering, etc).
Debugging and optimization of existing SQL queries and stored procedures.
Performance tuning and upgrade of Database servers to the latest MS SQL Server releases, including Database migration.
Maintain data quality initiatives and continually monitor and improve the quality and consistency of the data stored in SQL databases
Experience with performance tuning/capacity planning of servers
Experience with VMWare virtualization technologies in a production environment
Demonstrated ability to implement new systems
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills specific to both technical and business audiences
Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
