We're looking for a web savvy public-interest minded whiz to help deliver cutting edge online services to leading nonprofits, foundations and socially responsible businesses. Under the direction of the Web Producer, the Web Developer will be responsible for taking Photoshop PSD design files, converting them to themes, and installing them on a CMS. Web programming experience should include HTML, XHTML, CSS, and PHP. Experience with Ajax, Flash, and Ruby is a plus.
Additionally, the Web Developer should be familiar with open source software, content management systems (CMS) particularly Drupal and Wordpress Familiarity with nonprofit applications for fundraising and advocacy and experience developing for social media (Facebook applications) and mobile (text, iPhone) platforms is a also plus.
This position requires an interest in current Web and online trends; the ability to manage a project efficiently and on budget; and a shared passion for our belief that building amazing online experiences for progressive organizations will make the world a better place.
Roles and Responsibilities:
o Provide technical scope for projects
o Conceptualize technical solutions to facilitate Web site goals
o Cut and code site designs, install on Drupal and Wordpress
o Lead on technical implementation of Web and interactive projects
o Schedule and manage projects
o Work with Web Producer, Design Director, Account Teams and Out-of-house developer teams
Essential Qualifications:
o Self starter with good time-management skills
o Creative problem solver
o Three or more years of experience as a Web Developer or Programmer
o Prior experience in an agency environment a plus
